A changed life, born again, a new creature in Christ Jesus

Did you have a changed life AFTER Salvation? : let him that stole steal no more, born again, new creature, works meet for repentance, etc.

Ephesians 4:28

Authorized (King James) Version

“28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.”

John 3:3-7

Authorized (King James) Version

“3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

1 Peter 1:23

Authorized (King James) Version

“23 being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

Fruits meet for repentance can mean, “show me evidence that you’ve changed your mind or turned”. For a practical application:

Lets see some scripture and we can understand these concepts.

2 Corinthians 7:9-11

Authorized (King James) Version

“9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. 10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.”

These verses describe the Christian life both before and after salvation, verses 9 lays up the foundation that someone would sorrow to repentance and would sorrow after a godly manner, then in verse 10 it explains that godly sorrow leads to repentance; for godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. Verse 11 talks about the changes that are made in a persons life as a result of this thing. A saved person is now a little or a lot more careful regarding things that can be a sin, clearing of yourselves, indignation meaning disdain for their sin or sins in general, fear which I’d assume is fear of The Lord and fear of doing wrong and receiving chastisement, vehement desire which I’d take as a desire to do good things and have a desire to serve The Lord, zeal, and revenge to revenge against their old ways and to try to walk with The Lord, walking not after the flesh but after The Spirit.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Authorized (King James) Version

“17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Acts 26:19-21

Authorized (King James) Version

“19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: 20 but shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judæa, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. 21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.”

Matthew 3:8

Authorized (King James) Version

“8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:”

Romans 6:1-3

Authorized (King James) Version

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?”

Romans 6:10-12

Authorized (King James) Version

“10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.”

1 John 1:8-10

Authorized (King James) Version

“8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

1 John 3:1-10

Authorized (King James) Version

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”

Colossians 2:11

Authorized (King James) Version

“11 in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:”

Romans 8:9

Authorized (King James) Version

“9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”

Romans 8:1-2

Authorized (King James) Version

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

Colossians 2:10-15

Authorized (King James) Version

“10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 and having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

Ephesians 4:28

Authorized (King James) Version

“28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.”
