Publisher Errors, check your Bible.
Good morning everyone this is a message regarding PUBLISHERS
of the KJV Bible, NOT talking about a Bible error, there is no error in the KJV
Bible which is correct and not changed, I just want that to be 1000 percent
clear, but I want you to be aware regarding what I found about the PUBLISHER
and their notes and references. now the main topic will be how a particular
Nelson Bible tries to teach a post trib rapture by its references section at
the bottom of the page, and this is also a King James Bible I’m using. I am a
King James Bible only man. I also have a copy of the Geneva for my collection
because of it being an interest one day to go through it but I know that it
isn’t 100 percent correct how the King James Bible is. I don’t have time for
the others such as New Versions which remove words and verses and change the
meaning of the scriptures, but this isn’t about the Bible version issue as this
is about not trusting publishers and reference notes 100 percent and to do your
own studies ALWAYS. I believe the King James Bible is Gods perfect word without
error and therefore correctly translated from the original tongues. However I
wanted to make a point to study out the following matter for yourselves and to
be careful. This message is for new brethren just learning your Bible as well
as more experienced brethren in the faith who might be teachers or pastors. Be
careful with any reference notes that are added to your Bibles as they come
from the Publisher, for instance certain information that is used to introduce
Bible books before you start reading the chapter for instance especially with
the Thomas Nelson Bible that I have, it actually says Yahweh and then goes on
later on to mention the Godhead. We know if you’ve read the King James Bible,
the scriptures themselves never use Yahweh for the tetragrammaton of YHWH The
LORD Yehovah or Jehovah in English. If you do a Bible study for the word
Jehovah you’ll see it occurs 7 times, some use God The Father’s name
specifically and some use God’s name when naming something such as
Jehovah-nissi, or Jehovah Shalom.

And
Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is
said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.
and
I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God
Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
And
Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi:
Then
Gideon built an altar there unto the Lord,
and called it Jehovah-shalom: unto this day it is yet
in Ophrah of the Abi-ezrites.
that men may
know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the
most high over all the earth.
Behold,
God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for
the Lord JEHOVAH is my
strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
Trust
ye in the Lord for ever:
for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting
strength:
We
see that Jehovah is God The Father’s name according to the scriptures. Now be
careful not to join a cult called the Jehovah’s Witnesses which doesn’t believe
the Bible as written and they even add to the scriptures with their Watchtower document(s)
which talks about their incorrect beliefs. These guys use God’s name in vain.
Back
to the subject matter. The scriptural references can be helpful, and I do like
using these in a paper Bible for additional information especially since
scripture interprets scripture when you cross reference multiple scriptures to
get more information regarding a particular topic but today when reading
through 1st Thessalonians I found something alarming. In my
particular Bible and I’m sure other bibles especially Nelson Bibles are trying
to teach a POST trib rapture and they’re not understanding the pre trib rapture
or the second coming of Christ.
When looking up
1Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 13 to 18, I noticed the note for verse 4:16
wanted us to go to Matthew 24 verses 30 and 31, now I thought why Matthew?
That’s not our rapture/catching up and it also wanted us to go to 1Corinthians
15:52, and 1 Corinthains 15:23. I’m thinking ok, well I know 1Cor 15:52 is
about the new body we get, and I’d have to check again what verse 23 was again,
but lets see what these verses say.
1 Corinthians 15:23
Authorized (King James) Version
23 But every man in his own order:
Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
1 Corinthians 15:52
Authorized (King James) Version
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of
an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be
raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
These are different than what Matthew 24 is talking about as
we will see later.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
Authorized (King James) Version
16 For the Lord himself shall descend
from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump
of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Now for the full context we will see here it is talking
about our rapture or catching up, the Bible doesn’t name this event
specifically but men use the term rapture, so lets see the context of the
verses here:
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Authorized (King James) Version
13 But I would not have you to be
ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even
as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe
that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God
bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the
word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the
coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise
first: 17 then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the
air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore
comfort one another with these words.
Now for Verse 16 again, just to keep this fresh in mind,
1 Thessalonians 4:16
Authorized (King James) Version
16 For the Lord himself shall descend
from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump
of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Now the first reference that Nelson publishing wanted us to
examine
Matthew 24:30-31
Authorized (King James) Version
30 and then shall appear the sign of
the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and
they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and
great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a
great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the
four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
If we look at the verse before including these verses for
more context:
Matthew 24:29-31
Authorized (King James) Version
29 Immediately after the tribulation
of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be
shaken: 30 and then shall appear the sign of the
Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and
they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and
great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a
great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the
four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Now that makes it look like these two events are the same
when if you know your bible then you know these two events are NOT the same.
You need to rightly divide as per 2Timothy 3:16-17, lets also see 2Timothy 2:15
first. Matthew 24 has all the tribes mourning in verse 30, whereas in Paul’s
Epistles there would be comfort.
2 Timothy 2:15
Authorized (King James) Version
15 Study to shew thyself approved
unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word
of truth.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
Authorized (King James) Version
16 All scripture is given
by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 that
the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Now we know that this Matthew 24 reference is incorrect here
BECAUSE lets start with 1Thessalonians chapter 5 verses 1 to 11, and notice the
comfort Paul is speaking of.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
Authorized (King James) Version
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need
that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know
perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For
when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon
them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But
ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a
thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the
children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore
let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be
sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night;
and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But
let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and
love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For
God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus
Christ, 10 who died for us, that, whether we wake
or sleep, we should live together with him. 11 Wherefore
comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
There is no comfort if we have a chance of going into a
tribulation period especially the one people call the great tribulation. But we
see verse 11 talks about comfort.
This is for the new brethren, as well as older brethren in
the faith who may be teachers or preachers, or even a pastor. I just hope to
share what I found that The Lord put on my heart as I was reading
1Thessalonians this morning.
1 Thessalonians 5:21
Authorized (King James) Version
21 Prove all things; hold fast that
which is good.
That’s all I wanted to say. Have a blessed day in Christ
brethren.
